Lennox equipment matched to JEA meters, Clay Electric rebates and attic air handlers
A product catalog is the same everywhere. Which piece belongs in a Fleming Island two-story versus a Keystone Heights lake house on a well is not, and that's what this page is about.

How we choose from the catalog
Cook’s is an authorized Lennox dealer, and the tiles below walk through the line: air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces, mini-splits, packaged systems, zoning and the Healthy Climate indoor-air products. What matters for an Orange Park homeowner is the filter we apply before recommending any of it.
The meter. JEA inside the Town of Orange Park and parts of Fleming Island and Oakleaf, Clay Electric across most of the rest of the county, Green Cove Springs municipal electric in and around the county seat. Each has its own rebate rules, and the equipment tier that clears them changes the math on the proposal.
The attic. Most two-story homes in Oakleaf Plantation and Eagle Harbor park the indoor unit in the attic above a bedroom. That drives us toward variable-speed air handlers for quieter operation, careful condensate protection and, often, a conversation about a secondary drain pan and float switch.
The water. On well water in Middleburg, Clay Hill or the lakes region, iron and sulfur scale the condensate line and any humidifier faster than city water does. Equipment choices there favor simplicity and accessible drains.
The weather. Ninety-one-degree summers with oppressive humidity argue for two-stage or variable-capacity systems that run long and dehumidify. Ten to fifteen freeze nights argue for a heat pump with properly sized backup heat rather than a cooling-only system with an afterthought strip.
Lennox on the install, anything on the repair
A dealer relationship gives us factory training, parts access and a direct warranty channel for Lennox equipment, and we register every system we install. It does not mean we’ll tell a Lakeside homeowner with a six-year-old Trane to replace it. Repairs cover every major brand; the Lennox recommendation only comes up when replacement is the right answer.
Solar-ready and ENERGY STAR
Solar-compatible installs are something Cook’s holds certification for, and ENERGY STAR models run through the whole line. With Washington’s HVAC credits having lapsed at the close of 2025, the efficiency case now rests on the utility bill and the utility rebate, and we present it that way.
Rebate tiers, humidity and the garage
Which Lennox tiers qualify for the Clay Electric or JEA rebate?
Clay Electric’s program requires at least 15 SEER on a replacement heat pump or mini-split; JEA’s requires ENERGY STAR certification. Most of the Lennox line we install clears both, but we confirm the specific model against the current program sheet before promising anything.
Does multi-stage equipment earn its price in Clay County humidity?
In Orange Park, usually yes. A system that runs long at low speed strips far more humidity out of the house, which is the difference between 76 degrees feeling cool and 76 degrees feeling clammy in a tightly built Oakleaf house.
Can a mini-split handle a garage workshop or a Florida room addition?
That’s exactly where they shine. A ductless head avoids tying a sunroom or converted garage into an already-stretched 1970s duct system, and the Lennox mini-splits meet the Clay Electric rebate threshold.
