A family shop seventy-one minutes south, and why it still picks up for Clay County
Nobody at Cook's will tell you we're an Orange Park company. We're a Palm Coast company that has decided Orange Park is worth the drive, and we'd rather explain how that works than pretend otherwise.

Headquartered on Fairmont Lane, not on Blanding
Cook’s Air Conditioning & Heating Specialists operates out of 37 Fairmont Ln in Palm Coast, Florida. That is the only address the company has, and it is the one that will appear on your invoice. Orange Park, Fleming Island, Middleburg, Green Cove Springs and Keystone Heights are served as a scheduled route from that building, roughly 58 miles and an hour and ten minutes away over the Shands Bridge.
Several large regional brands advertise Orange Park as a “service area” without saying where their trucks sleep. Ours sleep in Palm Coast, and we’d rather you hear that from us.
Jerry, Sean and the people on the trucks
Jerry sells. He is the one who comes to a kitchen table in Lakeside Estates or Eagle Harbor with a Lennox proposal, and he is the one whose name shows up when customers write about the buying experience. Sean leads the technical side: diagnosis, difficult coil changes, the calls where the first contractor gave up. Around them is a crew of service, install and maintenance technicians who work the same routes week after week, so the person who tuned up your system in March is the one who recognizes it in August.
A Lennox dealer that repairs everything
Cook’s is an authorized Lennox dealer, which shapes what we install: Lennox air conditioners, heat pumps, air handlers, furnaces and the Healthy Climate indoor-air line, sized for a house rather than copied from the old unit. Being a dealer also means factory training and a direct warranty relationship, so a part claim on a Fleming Island Plantation system doesn’t go through three phone numbers.
It does not mean we turn away other brands. Clay County’s housing stock carries Carrier, Trane, Bryant and a long tail of builder-grade nameplates from the 2000s boom, and our trucks are stocked to repair all of them.
Houses on River Road, storefronts on Blanding
Most of our Clay County work is residential: block ranches in the Town of Orange Park and Bellair-Meadowbrook Terrace, 1980s and 90s subdivisions across Lakeside, two-story production homes in Oakleaf Plantation, rural lots on well water around Middleburg and the lakes. Commercial work is the rest: rooftop units and split systems for retail along Blanding Boulevard, offices, restaurants and small medical buildings. The same dispatch board schedules both.
The dispatch reality
A route this far from the shop works because we plan it. Clay County calls are grouped into route days, with technicians stacking repairs, maintenance visits and estimates so the drive up US 17 is made once and shared across several homes. Emergencies break the pattern: a no-cool call at night still gets a truck, and we quote the real drive time when you book rather than a number that sounds better. There is no after-hours charge, no mileage fee, and no pretending the trip is twenty minutes.
About the company, from an Orange Park address
Who actually owns Cook's, and will I ever talk to them?
It’s a family business. Jerry handles sales and proposals; Sean leads the technicians. On a Clay County estimate you’ll likely sit across from Jerry, and on a hard repair Sean may be the one in your attic.
If something goes wrong after an install, am I dealing with a subcontractor?
The company that sold the system is the one you call to service it, and one number reaches the same office for a quote or a warranty claim. Ask who will be on the install crew when you book. [[CONFIRM WITH JERRY]]
Why would a company from Flagler County take on a market this far north?
Because Clay County is growing from under 200,000 people in 2010 toward nearly 300,000 by 2040, and much of that housing went up in one rush with equipment now wearing out all at once. We already drive US 17.
